Music Recap 3.10
By Greg Mania

If you live in New York City or its surrounding area, I hope you’ve been enjoying the first few Spring-like days of the year, or as I like to call it, “The first time we don’t have to see those goddamn Canada Goose winter jackets.” Now that March has ushered in the warm weather, it’s time to pick out the appropriate playlist to match!

Our girl Marina and The Diamonds has been monopolizing our music recaps for the past few weeks, but we are in no way complaining! The 29 year-old Welsh singer-songwriter is on fire with promo for her upcoming album, FROOT. Check out her music video for “Forget” below:

Canadian musician Grimes (who fronted issue 07) surprised her fans during the Asian leg of her tour by dedicating a music video to them for an unreleased track called “REALiTi”. See it below:

Head over to Dazed Digital for the rest of the piece.

French singer and actress Soko dropped a track called “Lovetrap” featuring Ariel Pink and it’s bona fide magic. If there’s any track you need to listen to in this blissful weather while sipping on your Starbucks beverage with a more than five syllables long name, it’s this one. Check it out:

Read what Pitchfork has to say about the piece.

The peeps at Noisey have the right idea! Swimsuit Issue put out a video for their dreamy song “Break”. I’m pretty sure the video is just all of HBO’s Girls‘ deleted scenes strung together but it’s fun nonetheless:

Rapper Freddie Gibbs just dropped his EP Pronto on iTunes and it’s pretty dope (DON’T CHANGE “DOPE” TO A REAL, NON-SLANG ADJECTIVE JAKE I’M TRYING TO CATER TO OUR MILLENNIAL DEMOGRAPHIC). His three-track EP is available here

Head over to The Fader to check out the rest of the story.

Well, that’s all for this week, folks! See you next week!
