Boy Meets Girl

Words by Kelsey Zahn

Androgyny, a blurring of the lines, a veiling of what is to reveal what might be.

Jill Sander once said that, “the key words are proportion, balance, fragility, sensuality, and androgyny.”

There is something about that blend, the toeing of the line between form and function; a strange beauty, sharp angles meeting soft edges, shadow dancing with light. It changes how you see things, how you feel about things. The constant desire to “be” a certain way, to be definable, becomes less of a focus when you take away distinction.

The challenge is to explore that idea, to see what happens, when you flirt with that line. How things change once you let go of expected and descend into the unknown.
